Section: XML Import and Export.

Question Index:

Question:
What must I watch for when moving XML data from one server platform to another?

Answer:
While most ConsoleWorks XML data may be moved freely among servers running on the different platforms we support, there are a few items that are specific to the various Operating Systems. Among the items you may need to modify are Log File Directory, and file specifications for Action Routines. (Of course, the action routines themselves may be in a scripting language unsupported by the target Operating System. TDi Professional Services personnel are available to help should you need assistance migrating a large number of routines.)

Question:
How can I use XML export/import to set each console to require exclusive connect?

Answer:
1) Perform an XML export of the consoles.
2) Use your favorite XML editor (or text editor*) to change all values of part name "force" to "Y"
3) Save the XML file.
4) Import the XML file.

*If using Windows, Wordpad will handle formatting much better than Notepad.
